Effect of Intermittent Therapy with Chlorpropamide on Maturity - onset Diabetics

Abstract

|
Continuous and intermittent administration of chlorpropamide were done in six previously untreated, nonobese, maturity-onset diabetics, and their effects on the blood glucose and insulin level were studied.
Moderate improvement of glucose tolerance, noted at one and six months of the therapy, showed no significant difference in both groups.
Both groups showed slightly decreased response of blood insulin to oral glucose at one and six months of administration.
Glucose lowering effects were also similar in both groups.
